"Deutsche Identität vor und nach dem Holocaust - gespiegelt in der Lyrik". Unter diesem Thema findet am Donnerstag, dem 7. Juli 2005 um 20.00 in der Landsynagoge Roth das 21. Rother Synagogengespräch statt. Dr. Rainald Simon, Sinologe und freier Autor aus Frankfurt, stellt zusammen mit Gabriele C. Schmitt eine Gedichtauswahl von Rilke bis Enzensberger vor, die neben Schlüsseltexten auch weniger Bekanntes enthält. Hierbei wird der Versuch unternommen, die Texte in Beziehung zur Verfolgung der Juden von Roth und dem Schicksal ihrer Synagoge zu setzen. Insgesamt soll die Frage:" Wie geht die Lyrik mit diesem düsteren Kapitel der deutschen Geschichte um?" im Mittelpunkt des Abends stehen.
Hassliebe ist das Stichwort. Jedenfalls treffen wir auf gebrochene Emotionen, tiefe Verunsicherung und bisweilen auch aufkeimende Hoffnung.
